Giurgiu Port

Geographical position: Port of Giurgiu is situated on the left bank of the Danube river at km 493, nearby the town Giurgiu.

The port uses the right bank of Danube embarkments between km 494 – 491, an older river arm named "Canalul Plantelor / Sfântul Gheorghe" (Plants/Saint George Channel) and also a man made harbour basin named "Veriga".
The total area of this port covers more than 14,089 sq. m, with a length of the operational quay of more than 250 m pitched facing.
The water basin has a minimum water depth of 3.30 m.

Ports capacities
The annual traffic capacity of the port of Giurgiu is more than 435,000 tons of different kind of goods.
The maximum ship capacity is 2.000 t, with a total capacity of 215 t/hour for bulk commodities and 150 t/hour for general cargo products.
The volume of work is achieved using the following:
- Handling equipment: 1 quay crane 16 tf x 32 m; 2 quay cranes 5 tf x 32 m
