Tulcea Industrial Port

General view

Geographical position: is located at Km 73.05 on the Danube .

It was built in 1974 in order to provide the necessary raw materials for the metallurgic factories in Tulcea. (show map)

The main activities developed in The Industrial Port area are loading and unloading of various raw materials as manganese, bauxite, iron and cock, limestone, quartzite, ferroalloys etc in / from maritime and river vessels.

General characteristics of Industrial Port:

Number basins: 1;

Water depth: maritime area - 7,5 m; river area - min. 3,0 m;

Number of berths: 2 maritime berths + 1 river berth;

Operational shore zone: maritime area - 7150 mp , river area - 950 mp;

Length of quay: maritime area - 230 m, river berth - 100 m;

Passenger terminal: length of quay - 100 m;

Rail and road connection;

Portal cranes: 3 - 20 tf / 32m / hook; - 16 tf / 32 m / grab;

Push boats: 2;

Storage capacity: - martime berth: 8.600 sqm (9.000 kg/sqm)

The access to the port can be done bye roads, by railways (with standard and wide gauage) and waterway.
